For materialists there is no consciousnessapart from the living brain, which is part of a material body.

A mind without a body is an absurdity. Matter is not a product of mind, but mind itself is the highest product of matter.

Ideas are simply a reflection of the independent material world that surrounds us.

Things reflected in a mirror do not depend on this reflection for their existence.

"All ideas are taken from experience, are reflections - true or distorted - of reality," states Engels.

Or to use the words of Marx, "Life is not determined by consciousness, but consciousness by life."

it took more than a dream
to hear you selflessly say
i will and i accept

and it took more than a sigh
to reciprocate and contend
this confused soul

until i woke up
and catch a last breath
i was alone

you were leaving

as it is always the case... for a significant time, we become bound to the life of that person who touched part of our life, sometimes only awhile, but most of the time for lifetime at various intensity...

sa minsang pagtitig
sa ibong walang tigil sa paglipad
tumatagos ang pananaw
ng ilang milyang layo
abot nito ang lalim
ng puot
nagpupumiglas
mula sa bukal ng
di magibang pagnanasa
na minsan ay dumapo
nang muli sa pugad
sa gubat ng katahimikan
ngunit tumatagos
pa ng mas malayo
sa likod ng makakapal
na kagubatan
dahil dito di mapalagay
sa nakakabinging
huning nakakaaliw
nakakatuksong
wag hanapin
ang inang nakagapos
sa bakal ng pangungulila
sa hanging minsay
tumangay sa kanya sa kalawakan
nang walang nagdidikta

sa minsang pagmamasid
narating ko ang madilim
na kweba...

nais kong bumalik
ngunit may liwanag
sa dulo
